I always wondered that too, i think he dissipated his rasengan just to scratch his headband. Which is dumb regardless because if he wasn't trying to kill sasuke anyhow he should of just hit him with it... just not in the face

Nah, bruh. If Naruto was really about that life, he would have died before gettin 3T in Vote 2. They both were holdin back. Even in Vote 2 Sasuke ain't have the heart to put it on him. That goes double for Naruto who didn't even want to hurt the man like that.
I told my buddies the same thing.. That Naruto dispelled his Rasengan to scratch Sasuke's headband an they went ape dung on me.. You can clearly see the Rasengan vanish once Naruto was close to Sasuke head..
Had Naruto hit Sasuke with that Rasengan to the head, the young Uchiha would be dead..
But also notice that they didn't allow Sasuke to be hit not one time with the Rasengan but let Sasuke hit Naruto with the Chidori many times.. It says alot for power an the technique..

Naruto's hand went numb after sasuke solo'd him earlier, which meant he couldn't feel it. teh reason naruto hit his headband was because it was teh only place he literally could hit!!! teh arm getting solo'd meant he could only rasengan in a linear fashion oh and sasuke decided to punch him tat fodder in teh stomach instead of chidori........
naruto got easily ko'd twice in teh fight before teh 3rd ko... teh only threat was kurama when he started acting independently...naruto vowed to break every bone in sasuke's body and didn't even make him bleed.......
his Lung healed and he regained full use of is right arm.
It started out even up until first Rasengan vs Chidori clash...then Sasuke needed Curse Seal and 2-tomoe Sharingan to gain the upper-hand on base Naruto....Naruto Goes Tailless Kyuubi mode and proceeds to overpower and blitz(Multiple times) 2-tomoe Sharingan Sasuke(Sasuke starts to bleed from his mouth)...Sasuke awakens 3rd tomoe and gets his cheek cut when he dodges Naruto's punch, hit's Naruto two times and drowns him(Kinda dumb seeing how Naruto could've sat up)...Naruto goes tailed mode, hits Sasuke, and Sasuke loses confidence in close combat. He tries fireball, but Kyuubi Chakra renders it ineffective. Naruto smacks him into a crater drags him back with a Chakra arm and punches him into another crater. Sasuke goes curse seal lv 2 and is clawed into a statues foot...Naruto rushes in and Sasuke counters with a new hand-wing, knocking Naruto into the other statues foot. Sasuke grows another wing and remembers that Curse seal 2 damages the body after prolonged use, Naruto' s left hand goes numb, Sasuke notes that Kyuubi's chakra is also damaging Naruto...ends with Rasengan vs Chidori clash.

CM2 isn't his own power, but the Sharingan is. Do you think Naruto would honestly have beaten Sasuke with Sasuke not having CM but 3T and Naruto not having Kurama?

Sasuke didn't need it, the whole point of him choosing to use it was because he was deluded to think Naruto was ahead of him.The whole fight itself showed that even when Sasuke deactivated the curse-mark, he was still ahead. Naruto may have had a powerful jutsu and summoning but he never properly mastered the basics.

true that he didnt have the basics but in sasukes mind he saw naruto as progressing further and becoming stronger than himself, after/during gaaras fight he was amazed at naruto but once he learned rasengan he was envious but at the end of the day naruto was always going to have kuramas chakra but sauce needed curse mark to beat 1 tails naruto
