Why did Naruto spare sasuke in VOTE 1??

When Naruto and sasuke did their final clash in VOTE 1 why did Naruto withdraw his rasengan and instead scratch sasuke headband?

Did he fear the vermilion rasengan would kill the young uchiha?

Naruto's hand went numb after sasuke solo'd him earlier, which meant he couldn't feel it. teh reason naruto hit his headband was because it was teh only place he literally could hit!!! teh arm getting solo'd meant he could only rasengan in a linear fashion oh and sasuke decided to punch him tat fodder in teh stomach instead of chidori........

In that scan it would have either been Naruto's neck or his chest/arm. From the manga perspective it would have been Sasuke's head or his headband.

Yep Naruto was initially trying to convince Sasuke wasn't serious on fighting him, its only after he got pissed that he decided to fight him and even then he just wanted to beat Sasuke to a pulp and take him back to the village.

nope, he was trying to do it from teh start. teh fight only became even when kurama acted independently and fooled sasuke's precog.....naruto was levels below sasuke in teh fight
