Why did Naruto lose his silliness?

He used to be legitimately funny and charming when he was 12-14 but when he became a teenager I feel like his personality was more stale and too idealistic rather than relatable. He used to just be funny you know, he would make wise cracks at all the adults and never seemed like a complete airhead just impulsive, he actually seemed more in tune with reality than his child peers with his sense of humor.

A good reason might be that he couldn't make jokes while Sasuke was missing. It just didn't feel the same without him. IDK.

He became mature but still he has his humorous tone to him as shown when he does his Sexy jutsus in front of Sakura with Konohamaru in Shippuden.

To be honest, P2 Naruto still acted silly, but a lot of battles, conflicts, and even the lengthy War Arc which placed Naruto in a very dire situation likely overshadowed the parts where Naruto did act silly. Regardless, during the Pain Arc which severely impacted Naruto's character development and outlook on the entire Shinobi world still had multiple instances which showed that Naruto still retained his humor since Part 1.
