Why did Minato use RDS

Why did minato use RDS against Kurama? For starters it's a forbidden jutsu, not to mention Minato clearly studied uzumaki sealing jutsus to use an 8 trigram seal alongside a forbidden sealing jutsu originally invented by the uzumaki. So why did he use it specifically? Was there a good reason?

They really should elaborate more into this as that doesn't make sense. I guess if he only knew uzumaki sealing jutsus and the only one viable at the time was DRS that's what he was stuck with.

I think if he used the 8 trigram seal it would have to seal the whole thing. So he used RDS to split Kurama in half in order to use the 8 trigram seal.

maybe he did the jutsu because its nearly impossible to counter.eventhough lord oro figured it out im not sure if minato predicted that.now that I think about it even naruto's seal was created with key.the fourth was a smart man and I guess figured the hidden leaf's ninjas would be elite as he was

If I remember it correctly he had to use DRS 'also' because Naruto being a baby he could only take on 50% of kurama.

He claimed that it wasn't possible for him to seal all of Kurama's chakra in Naruto or something along those lines. Maybe it was because he was only an infant? He used RDS to split the chakra because he had no other method of sealing half of the Kyuubi at the time that would work for sure. Especially since Minato was probably low on chakra at the time. RDS probably uses chakra and life force so I guess that was simply the best method given the scenario.

He can't seal the entirety of Kurama in Naruto because he was just a baby so he had to split it in half.

At first it looks as if he died for nothing,like the fact that kushina was cabable of defeating kurama and all and also ftg seal never fades so one could say that he could have just defeated obito,but kishimoto gave a reason already.

The thing is that he knew kushina will die,so he wanted to make naruto meet her some time later in his lifetime to help him control kurama. He used reaper death seal because the jutsu seals the soul away,in kurama's case dividing him into yin-yang,so to make kurama weak for allowing naruto to hold him without difficulty.

It was plot device to kill him, he had to die so the story could continue. Do you think Orochimaru would attack Konoha if Minato was still Hokage, 13 years old, which means he'll be even stronger, Hiruzen still there and Jiraiya visiting Minato every now and then. Also the Uchiha clan wouldn't have done their coup since it happened because the higher ups knew only a Uchiha could control Kurama so mistrust built up between the two. The Uchiha's could have easily talked to Hiruzen and asked to be moved closer to the village and given bettr jobs but there was mistrust amongst them.

Kushina was friends with Sasuke's mom and it was Said that the villagers like Minato so I'm sure if he lived that the Coup wouldn't have been an issue. Plus Minato knows it wasn't anyone in the village who controlled Kurama. Hiruzen was outside the barrier, Kushina could have let him in and he could have done DRS instead if anything.

He used dead demon to split kurama in half then sealed each half into himself and his son with 8trigrams.
Dead demon seal is the only known seal that can cut chakra and souls like that.

Because there wouldn't be Naruto manga in the first place if it hadn't been for Minato dying there.
