Why did madara kill his best friend?

Why did he kill him, or was he not the first person to unlock MS?

It was stated in the Manga that Madara and Izuna trained together to the point that they unlocked sharingan.

They later went on to kill their best friends in order to achieve MS.

However I don't think they knew that killing their best friends would unlock MS. I think they just wanted to de-attach themselves from all emotion.

Hmm, I think they might have been a bit like Danzo. Trying to remove all emotions but they didn't know they will awaken a new Sharingan.

Or, they may have read a myth/legend about the Sharingan... Who knows

no i highly doubt that i mean look at madaras age when he mentions the other two who were most likely older i doubt they did that especially sense izuna is even younger still then madara at this point.

Madara and Izuna trained together....the other brothers trained together, but all lived together. Put up in a 2 vs 2 ritual to the death while the clan watched or something. Seeing how the Senju acted towards winning....I wouldn't put it past the Uchiha
