Why did madara rinne tense himself. That means that now, he is weaker, not immortal, and has limited chakra.

Yes, the original plan was for him to become the juubi's jinchriki. But the juubi is gone now.

So, why did madara do it?

Well i think Madara plans on sealing all the other tailed beasts inside him to become the Sage of six paths that way he will be unbeatable everybody wants to rule the world(every villain is like that);Kishimoto is trying to prolong this fight as much as he can,i just hope there wont be anymore dying it was bad enogh when Neji died.
Other than that it will be a hell of a fight that Madara will put up in next weeks chapter i simply can't wait for it.

He did, however, Madara probably created some new jutsu after he awakened the Rin'negan that Kabuto didn't have knowledge on. Not to mention that alive Rin'negan Madara is an old Madara so that's not prime Madara which Kabuto had knowledge on.​
