Why did Kisame think Tobi was Madara?

In Naruto Shippuden episode 142, Tobi took off his mask to reveal his identity to Kisame. The strange part is that Kisame recognized him as Madara. Why is this? Obviously we know Tobi is Obito now.

He knew it was Obito, Obito told him his plan and told him he's going by Madara. Think about it kisame isn't dumb obito first showed himself when he was controlling the 4th mizukage and that was a while ago. At the time obito was probably 13-16 and looked young Madara would have been like 100 years old.

You only see Madara's silhouette in those episodes, and it looks nothing like Obito. Unless he was going through a rebellious phase and had grown out his hair.

Are you asking why Kisame didn't take Obito's words of being Madara as a lie or are you asking why he didn't recognize Madara's face? Because I'm pretty sure he never saw the real Madara in person so he wouldn't know what he looks like.

As far as him taking Obtio's word for being the real Madara, what else was he supposed to do? I mean sure the real Madara was supposed to be dead but this is Naruto after all. If Oro and Tsunade can still look as young as they do at age 50 or so, what's to stop someone as powerful as Madara to look young after being around for 100 years or so? Obito told him he was Madara and he didn't have anything else better to call him, so why not

That was Obito not Madara. The manga showed us that Madara killed himself when Obito was still a little boy. He was dead long before Kisame joined the akatsuki. Plus Obito was growing his hair out for a little while

The Obito/Madara from episode 251 has really long hair styled like Madara's. Tobi has always had short hair. So basically, Obito looked like Madara in that episode only to lead on the viewers. Obviously Obito reverted to his normal look shortly after for Kisame, off screen, or else Obito would have never been recognized in episode 142. If that makes sense.
