Why did Kakashi use a scroll at first to summon the Dogs?

i'm sure back then, kakashi used some of zabuza's blood to track him in that fog. which was why he used that scroll, he rubbed some of zabuza's blood on it so the dogs could find him.

It was either that, or he done it so save Chakra. The scroll could work the same way Orochimaru's snake summoning tattoo did, or like it.

Kakashi uses the scroll when he needs them to track somone and send a location..i think the scroll gives him the location.

i believe he did so for earth style and that they would appear from the ground for a surprise attack as when he summons them without a scroll they appear where ever the kakashi summons them

Kakashi wanted to look badass thats all the reason he needed to use scrolls with his summoning
