as title says, his eyes widen, like a black hole opened in the middle of his eyes before hinata came from behind, i noticed it in the anime and looked at the manga but it's hard to tell in the manga, but at the bottom of this page, this is the moment im talking about. What was deva path trying to do at this point? Maybe it was simply an anime mistake and nothing at all.

I think it was his chakra going into naruto. The black hole was just to make him look more badass.

He was trying to fully control Naruto.
He had already put in the chakra Rods.
If he would've did that, Naruto's eyes would've turned into Rinnegan and Pain would've had full control.
