When Edo's are first summoned they don't have cracks on their body (the cracks come after they have taken damage). So Madara may have been returned to that state after releasing the Edo Tensei's summoning contract.

If you mean them being brought back with no cracks, thats what it looked like to me (as long as they already have the talisman inside them). The only exception I have seen is Madara but he came out of the coffin with an explosion.
The Edo's that Tobi use's don't have a talisman in them because they are being controlled by Tobi's chakra receivers.
