Why can't we have a large profile?

The mod and the admin, they actually have a larger size for their profile picture. For a normal user, we can only upload a picture up to a certain size, which I find troublesome as I need to adjust and change the size everytime uploading a profile pic. Secondly, it isn't fair as I dont see why the mod and the admin can have it but not the normal user?

it because It's their site Its not about whats fair, think about it they make this awesome site for us "The User", there is know need to complain. If anything you should be thanking them for the site, and be happy you have a profile pic. :flaw:

Our dimensions are: 420 by 580 pixels or 298.4 KB (whichever is smaller).
Admins can have whatever size they want. Most of the mods don't even use pics that big, i don't see why it matters, other sites have it at 150 x 150 or none at all. So be happy

What I meant is that, why can't the normal user can have too as I didn't see why. Not a wallpaper, just a normal pic will do but sometimes when uploading it, the system will re-size it into a smaller one...And that's the problem

Normal profile pic size is more than enough. Its not your profile pic that counts, its what kind of text you posts that really counts.

Well, I just wonder...

Simply, because a bigger profile picture will take more space on the server, thus if everyone had as big profile picture as staff members we would need a bigger server or it will take more time to load the pages.

Thanks everyone who replied, @ OP; profile pics in the past were smaller, it was Effie/Misa who suggested them to be bigger and that was accepted. It's highly unlikely that they will get bigger due to what Pesh said. Anymore questions? Contact me or any other mod ^^
