I see your point
I guess because they feel things are worse in Syria than it is Detroit

Giving funds to Detroit makes as much sense as The Stimulus Obama did in his first year, with even less sense for this Syria schtick. The state government knows what to improve on, but the federal government doesn't. In fact, giving out funds for Detroit wouldn't do jack diddly for them, because their prime industries closed down.

They need a permanent economy set up, not a temporary teat to suckle.

It would be throwing money away. The city government there can't get their act together.

Bombing will not solve anything.

Americans reacted quite loudly to just a few deaths in the Boston bombings.

Now America is going to bomb Syria, killing possibly way more, shouldnt we know how it feels?

Yeah, it sounds like Congress could do with a bit of Shipuuden to read. I mean, it's not like they can do anything else important with their few billions of defense funds like paid maternity leave, free tertiary education, a significant slice of the pie slid over to NASA's direction, or public transportation that doesn't smell like pee.

Sometimes I feel that just purging the middle east countries completely would be best >_>
But...

Because the wellbeing of the people is not a priority. Expanding their political power is.

Detroit right now has been forgotten by our government

So much for the power of people.

Bombing will not solve anything.

That really depends upon what you do with the bombing, and what your goals are.

Contrary to the nonsense you're taught in school - war, death, and destruction are perfectly valid ways to resolve a conflict. They are, generally, used when two conflicting parties are at an impasse. One destroys or subjugates the other if the perceived gains from doing so are worth the effort.

I would question, in Syria, the perception of our leaders that military strikes would be worth it... but we can and will fix Syria's little red wagon if we decide to.

... There again... part of the problem we've had in the past is that there have been poor/incorrect notions regarding how other cultures would respond to a free election system (free elections do not a democratic people make). Half the time - the original conflict is never resolved because the 'majority' simply elects another totalitarian and they go about telling the 'minority' to conform or suffer.

Americans reacted quite loudly to just a few deaths in the Boston bombings.

Now America is going to bomb Syria, killing possibly way more, shouldnt we know how it feels?

This would actually be a point if the Syrian people weren't already slaughtering each other.

I'd rather they made a mountain of $1 bills and set it on fire than help Detroit's broken system.

That, too.

Actually, I'd rather they burn most of the money they print. That might bring inflation under control. I think you're on to something, Darth.
