Why can't Nagato use Sharingan techniques?

As we all know, Madara gave Nagato his Rinnegan. Now, how'd that happen? Didn't Madara's EMS turn into Rinnegan when he was almost dead?

Doesn't that mean that Nagato is also supposed to have gotten the EMS along with the Rinnegan? Not only does he have Uzumaki/Senju blood in him, he also got Madara's eyes. His chakra should be able to take it.

As seen with Kakashi and Danzo, transplanting a sharingan is very much possible. The aforementioned two could even use Mangekyou techniques.

Yet... why wasn't Nagato able to do that? His Deva path was fooled by Naruto's clones whereas Madara claims that he can see through mokubunshin with his EMS.

But isn't Rinnegan an advanced EMS already? Why didn't Nagato see through Naruto's clones, as well?

To top it, Nagato mastered all nature transformations when he was 10. He could also use Yin and Yang release. Why wasn't he able to use Sharingan techniques, since his Rinnegan was obtained from Madara's EMS? It's as if Kakashi wasn't able to use MS techniques because he obtained a regular sharingan from Obito, but he was able to.

So why didn't Nagato do that too?

He probably wasn't able to revert back to the Sharingan, in the same way that Kakashi can't deactivate his Sharingan. It seems to be like that with transplants.

Seems odd that he'd be able to use Rinnegan to its full extent but wouldn't be able to use the Sharingan.

After all, the Rinnegan is a ton better.

I think so, if those are the rules. I'm sure he would've wanted both of them; they're the most sought after eyes in the Verse. However, he does have a pretty sweet S/T jutsu; again, one of the most sought after in the Verse. He still has almost all of the Rinnegan's powers anyway, right? Did he need both eyes?

Well. Madara gave his eyes to Nagato when it was at the Rinnegan stage and since he didn't awoken on his own he can't switch to the Sharingan.

Take Kakashi as an example....Kakashi can't ever go back to his normal eyes and that's why his 3 tome Sharingan is on at all time.

I think its like a tier system. Rinnigan has its own techs that were unlocked by Nagato. He didnt unlock the three tiers below him because he was stuck in the final tier.

Come to think of it, I find it pretty annoying that Obito can use the Rinnegan to a hypothetical 100% efficiency since he only has one.

Unfair. You can't use Susanoo with just 1 MS.

I think Kishi needs to nerf Rinnegan in a future patch.

Now that you mention it, Pein did always have his eyes active. His chakra reserves must be RIDICULOUS. I guess it did take a toll on his body though. Obito's a G, too. I've never seen his eyes regular, even with his regular eye.
