Why can't I like Naruto AND Sasuke?

Why does it seem like there are so many rabid fanboys on this forum who condemn anyone who says something remotely positive about one character or the other? Both are good characters, in my opinion. I don't like one over the other. People call out for the death of Naruto or Sasuke as if erasing them from existence would achieve them some sort of personal victory.

Yet, it seems people have gotten so emotionally attached to one or the other that they'll go to religious extremes to bash anyone who threatens their opinion. This sort of obnoxious entrenchment is really giving these forums a sour tone. Is there anyone else out there who thinks the conflict and balance between the characters makes for a good story, not one simply dominating the series? Am I the only one who cares for character development and story progression over some sort of petty mascot rivalry?

Pretty much this. I do think it's silly though. It's just a story after all(flinches and assumes fetal position). Your opinion is your opinion an nobody can change it. Openmindedness should always be welcome. I like Naruto because I feel like I can relate to his tenacity/extreme camaraderie and since I was picked on as a kid but now I'm coming into my own now that I've grown up. Naruto's development is impressive, but it's more about being able to relate. However, there are undeniable some cool things about Sasuke as well.

Let me save the Sasuke fans the time, "EVERYTHING ABOUT SASUKE IS COOL." I got your back guys.

Yeah, the base has the x solos y problem, that causes disputes every time supporters clash XD but that's how internet works...you have to look, get over and leave...neutral position is always the best when you are in doubt Xd

U can like em both or hate em both or like one and dislike/hate the other, anyone who hurls insults at yu for yo opinion is just wrong coz if we all liked the same things and hated the same thing then there wld be no need for these sites/forums.
