[Debate] Why cant 18 year olds drink alcohol?

We're seen as adults or more accurately said, "Young Adults" at that time so why aren't we allowed to drink alcohol at that age? Do you think we should or do you think it's fine at the age of 21?

Some laws are BS. Did you know 5 year olds can smoke? They just cant by cigs. I think that law is applicable to alchohol in some states

This is a very America-centric post. Most every other country has a lower age limit. The reason for the raised drinking age is that the US was founded by a bunch of extremist protestants whose socially conservative qualms have seeped into the fabric of our society.

I like it at 21. I'm 18 now, and I really don't care about alcohol. I think it's at 21 because at age 18 that's usually whenever people try to get their driver's license. Add alcohol to that and it can cause trouble.

IMO, it's good at 21, and it's not like 3 more years of no alcohol will kill anyone.

well if my nursing teacher wasn't joshin me its because your frontal lobe (decision making and problem solving) part of your brain isn't full developed until 21 and since alcohol messing up brain cells eh. Idk, but that's all i got.

considering how powerful alcohol business is, it's drunk driving concern. They are more strict about that in the US since people in the US don't know their limits. Remember, it's just not legal. If you learn anything from Hollywood movies, just because it's illegal it doesn't mean that nobody's doing it.

I think they should raise the driving age and lower the drinking age, and make mj legal. Keep the darn misguided youth indoors and lazy. There's too many people driving and too many kids on the lawn!

In my opinion, no one should be drinking as it leads to such serious health problems in the first place.
