I'm pretty sure that he was originally going to die against As Nodt, and he's most likely going to die later on in the series.

It would take a Miracle for him to be killed in the next few chapters.

Byakuya not dying is the only thing that really urked me about this whole arc, his death could have been great for Rukia and Renji development, and now he's just kinda there.

yep. Serves no purpose. kenpachi I can see being allowed to live, because he still had a role in the story.

Nah but seriouslt the story could not have continued without kakashi, he was a pivotal cahracter from as early as chapter 4. And he was narutos trainer, comrade and is some sneses a father figure.
Byakuya is more like an asuma, cool character but a side character.

Pain literally died to revive kakashi... I fail to see how bazz b died to revive byakuya.

Ok fine I give you one rank up. Byakuya is like neji. Misguided villain at first and wanted to hurt his "sister" has a overly pale complexion, has long hair and became a good guy after being defeated by the bad guy. Boom baby that's the perfect comparison
