It's usually the other way around, where the manga is bloody and gruesome but the TV/movie tones down the violence to reach a broader demographic. But here we see the opposite.
In the movie when Kinshiki breaks out of Tsuchikage and Mizukage's trap the skin of his arm gets completely torn off and his exposed muscles are clearly visible as well as a pool of blood forming under him as he stands next to Momoshiki before getting turned into a chakra fruit. In the manga, he simply breaks out of the trap through Momoshiki's ability with no physical damage.
In the movie there is a scene where Sasuke gets trapped inside Momoshiki's lava chibaku tensei, melting away half the flesh of his face before Naruto applies his regenerative chakra to save his life.
In the manga version though, this scene is removed entirely and replaced with Momo attacking with wood dragons. Sasuke is caught in one's mouth but is saved by Naruto, not taking any physical damage. He uses this technique in the movie also, just it doesn't really have much effect and is shrugged off by Bijuu Susanoo.
Overall the movie version (at least up until this point) has had more raw action and bloody wounds, which imo is important for an action story such as this.
On the contrary, Momoshiki's redesigned transformation is much more threatening and reminiscent of occult imagery, so why make an edgier design but cut away the violence? I don't understand their thought process.
