I'm talking about Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom. Why are they full of glitches and bugs. Were the developers just lazy or something?

Had to make a quick buck .. haha .. shitty jokes aside ..
They were just rushed to the market, they could have been great minus the furry on human aspect of 06 of course .. why.

First of all, 2014 was a horrible year for gaming in general. Second, when you are rushed to release a game by a certain deadline, the game is bound to have problems, and this was the case for both 06 and Sonic Boom. If given the proper time and release date they may have actually been good games. Same goes for games like Assassins Creed Unity and it's many bugs. If you release a game knowing it's incomplete, then that is what is will feel like and always will be like: Incomplete/Broken.

Did you just sum up Destiny?

I don't play video games in general but I have Sonic Dash on my smart phone. Nice graphics and gameplay, but it occasionally freezes and I'd have to shut down the game. I guess that has more to do with my phone than the game itself.

"Yay! We just completed this level! What is next!? Oh...the same level again because we suck."
Yeah I probably did. Destiny did have it's moments however.

It can happen. It's difficult to design games if you ask me requires lot of work, testing, designing, and of course brain. So yeah glitchs might occur not a big deal.

Agreed. Game design is very difficult. I always think all the time and energy it must have taken to make GTA V...scares the sh** out of me.

its happens with some games... kinda lame that they aren't made as well as they should be. ... I mean... have you played fable anniversary dude they did pretty much nothing in that game ... improved graphics that's it. not frame rate or anything and it freezes a bunch.... its pretty crap. they must have done the same with sonic

You're totally right. The game has so many features. Even GTA vice city.

Well if GTA has a lot of developers then each developer probably did a block (street block) of work. So most likely each dev had the same amount of work then any other game dev.

I think this video does a great job explaining what you are asking.

wtf? deadlines could be extended and they wont announce it to be released if they are not sure that its good to be marketed.. bugs and stuff like that came from games or it could be gone when you update your system or someshit or give it back to whereever you bought it.

Deadlines are not determined by the developers but by the company they work for ex. SquareEnix, Capcom, Ubisoft, etc. While many of these companies are so well established that pushing back the release date is not such a big deal, others give a deadline for developers and are told to push it out the door whether it's ready or not and you get things like the OP is describing.

You are right however in that for a number of these companies patches are later released to take care of these issues. Like GTA V when it 1st launched the online portion you couldn't get out of the lobby without it freezing on you. Thankfully this was patched relatively quick.

As far as bringing it back to the store: Once you remove the plastic casing you are stuck with it. You could, at most, trade it in for store credit or a small (and I do mean small) amount of cash.

I downloaded Sonic Racing Transformed once on my phone and the damn app would just display a black screen upon start up. I wasted about 700mb worth of download time. Sega sucks...

hmm .__. I think Sonic's glory died off after the gamecube lost it's shine. Shadow the Hedgehog and sonic adventure 2 battle were really good.

Some say Sonic Generations is a good game. Wish I didn't buy Sonic Boom lol.

@Bold.

No, not really. Granted, 2014 wasn't a year blossoming with games the likes of Bioshock or the Last of Us, but it sure as hell was not a year riddled with games the likes of Sim City or Ride to Hell: Retribution. The title of "Worst Year for Games" has been given to every passing year ever since I began gaming. You may not have found anything appealing in the Gaming Industry last year, but that certainly doesn't mean that 2014 damned all games to hell.

OT: Jim Sterling speaks my mind when it comes to recent Sonic titles:
