[Discussion] Why are some of you hating on 672?

This might be a little late but...

I mean yeah Gai lives, but why do you want him to die so bad?
We know its "The gate of death" but it was never really said that you could never be saved, maybe they didn't know of a specific way to save them back then because normal medical ninjutsu didn't work (or were too slow). But Naruto's powers haven't really been given a clear explanation, we don't know what he's fully capable of or what sasuke is either. To just complain and whine that he saved Gai's life is just rather ignorant. Besides...Kishimoto has contradicted him self a lot in previous chapters anyways so why is this such a big deal?

I agree, I never wanted Gai to die to begin with. I though the chapter was great.

its not cool if u use technique who can kill you, and then u dont die. if naruto was to save him. its better to let guy really dies, and then somehow give him live again although i prefer guy to die. not because i hate him but i think its supposed to be so

I rather have Gai live then to die for absolutely no reason. He didn't even need to use the 8 gates. Jiraya already died for no reason.

I didnt believe Gai would die anyway. I still dont believe it. I want to see a eight gates juubi cloaked Gai vs Madara salty runback.

The series never had a problem with killing off characters in the past but now it never ever happens.

Tsunade should be dead
Ay should be dead
Kabuto should be dead
Muu should be dead
Obito should be dead
Gai should be dead

true there are no real notable deaths in this war, so it's like madara and obito are not capable of finishing off people, they are OP, but can't kill. technicaly even neji died because he jumped in to save naruto and hinata, so they didn't target to kill him.

also you forgot about the other kages, onooki, mei and gaara. also muu is already gone since edo tensei was released. and kakashi should be dead to, he faced tailed beasts with only his kamui as his powerhouse. uses more chakra then he has already 5 times for sure. got stabed with a big shuriken through the spine and just stitched himself up.

Yeah i guess i can agree with that false emotion building idea kishi has. But that's should be the thrill of the manga, having such a unpredictable suspense. Thats one of my favorite traits that kishi has, a lot of his plans are very unpredictable. I but i think the fact that Gai almost DID die, proves that his build up didn't really disappoint. Naruto was just able to get there in time to save him. We stil ldont know if he'l live or die yet. It was just 2 pages of the chapter anyways.

I just think it would be a little too much to kill off Gai just like that, at least for the sake of Lee.

Guy surviving thanks to Naruto's new power wasn't that unpredictable. I knew that it was a strong possibility (though I was hoping that it wouldn't happen). With Naruto saving him I'm fairly certain that he will survive. Yea it was only 2 pages of an epic chapter but to me the chapter would have been even better with it ending with Guy's death. I also don't agree that it's too much for Guy to be killed off. We're nearing the end of the series so I doubt he is going to have much importance in the story anymore.

"it makes a good story" crap. If I told a story about you are your best friend, and as I told it, it actually happened, would you want me to then right, and then the best friend dies... because good storytelling means someone has to die.
