Why are people upset Tobi is Obito?

The reason I was upset was because it seemed far too obvious. For him being some super mystery antagonist, it was a little too easy of a guess. But, over time I learned to accept it and now I have now problem with it. It was actually a good choice, seeing as any other Uchiha wasn't as relatable to the main plot as him. Anyone else wouldn't have as big of an impact. Still though, Rin being the only thing that lead him to his way of thinking is kind of dumb and inhuman.

My biggest problem with Obito being Tobi is clearly that the timeline got screawed up because of it, and the fact that Kishimoto had to make plot holes for Obito to even be Tobi kinda bugs me...

1: Obito got crushed by the boulder and died (Kishimoto got around this by having Obito activating his Mangekyu Sharingan before he had obtrained it...)

2: Tobi infiltrated the leaf village, killing dossens of ANBU black ops, summoning the Kyubi and fighting toe to toe against the 4'th hokage (all this happened a very few years after the bridge mission where Obito was supposely "crushed/killed") at this point Obito is still in his mid teens/late teens! So when did he get this massively powerup? and the huge amount of information he got... and more importently how? and many skilled ninja train all their lives and still dosen't become as powerfull as Obito managed to be in just 2-5 years... He pretty much went from being a loser/guy without much talent for being anything more than just a cannon fotter ninja (with the sharingan though) to becomming one of the strongest characters in the naruto universe! (Kishimoto never got around this plot hole, it's still there, unexplained)

3: how could Minato not reconize his former student, sure as far as Minato knew he was, but Naruto said himself that when Shinobi get to a surtain level they get the ability to instantly know/sence the other person they are fighting, and know their fealings, thoughts, skill level and desires as soon as they fight with them (naruto says this after the incident where sasuke tries to kill sakura, kakashi and Naruto) (Kishimoto never got around this plot hole, it's still there, unexplained)

4: Obito obtained the Mangekyu Sharingan after Kakashi killed his closest friend (Rin) .... and here I though that the Mangekyu Sharingan only got "unlocked" when you personally wend true the traumatic experience of killing your own "best friend" (this was how it was explained to us) not magicly getting it when someone else "who do posses 1 of your eyes" killes their best friend. (Kishimoto explained it this way... I personally feal it's a copeout, and it was his only way of giving Obito the Mangekyu Sharingan without having Obito kill Kakashi)

says it all.... obito went from being a no count loser genin/chunin to taking on the 4th hokage in a couple years. and it was very lame to have one of the primary antagonists going from being the smiles and sunshine makes the world go round ninja, to wanting to destroy the whole world....all because his wanna be girldfriend died.

most of us could care less if it was izuna, but obito was a lazy choice imo and i think many feel the same way.

I didn't care who Tobi was, but it being Obito turned a fairly likeable kid into a complete jerk in almost an instant. Pulling all kinds of heinous crimes across their world without a care. Even against his own family, former comrades, and people who have nothing to do with his plans at all.

Maybe if it was more gradual he'd be more accepted. Or make him a smaller scale villain.

Possible answers.
1. An automatic reflex of his body since he was near death took over and did what it had to do in order to survive. Haven't you notice that a lot of time even when Obito is surprised by an attack(ex. Naruto's Rasenshuriken a few chapters ago) things still seem to go right through him automatically.

2. Combination of Madara's training and Zetsu. You notice when he tried to leave the cave he couldn't break through until Zetsu combine with him and made him a heck of a lot stronger. Plus another uchia named Sasuke has made the same type of leap in pretty much the same amount of time.

3. Zetsu again. He was covered in a Zetsu body so that could have possible change his fighting style and chakra flow and made it more difficult to recognize him from how he was in the past.

4. The Sharigans are probably still connected which is why he saw the same image as Kakashi as he got closer so to the eye Kakashi killing rin is the same as Obito doing it himself since it was in kakashi's body hence bother Mangekyo's awakened at the same time or Kakashi's emotions at the time for killing a best friend is what caused it because he did seem pretty emotional for having to do it which is the prerequisite for obtaining the mangekyo.

some people really wanted it to be izuna because they are big fans of him and it would be interesting

Yes tobi's character seem to lose a lot of its glammour after it was revealed and im still not conviced looking at the manga the kishi was going to make him obito the whole time. Two of my biggest issues where one how does any character progress that much in such a short time with those injuries. Madara could've been around that much longer after Obito woke up. I mean look as kid it took him two times to become a chuunin to a couple years later he's strong enough to take out mist nin-retrival, Anbu ops level ninja, control the 9 tails, and fight the 4th on par...actually had him on the run for some of the fight (and when he fought the 4th he seemed as if he'd never seen this guy fight before). Second this same 16 year old controlled the Hidden Mist village' kage and he also conviced Itachi (who could have only been a coulpe years younger than Obito) that he was madara....the same guy that awaken his sharigan at 7 or 8 and becomes captain of anbu ops, refers to a guy that awaken his 12 or 13 as his mentor this doesn't seem to track. Also Obito has progressed more than naruto has he really started at the bottom now he's literally fighting the whole world on par.
