Why are people surprised that Senju > Uchihas?

Some of the people who got surprised and overreacted were probably Uchiha fans in denial from the last time it was stated.

this weeks chapter shows which of the two shinobi are stronger between madara and hashirama. but it doesn't say which clan is stronger, the senju can have some weakass people and so can the uchiha or they both can have some strong people. all we've been shown is that hashi>>>madara not senju>>>>uchiha jussayin

I guess the preconception of Kishimoto being an ''Uchiha lover'' gave some people the false hope that the Senju clan, the clan that stated to be the strongest, was fated to be trolled or something against any Uchiha on panel, but alas, the opposite happened.

Exactly bro, this pretty much sums it all up.The Senju>Uchiha, and that makes Hashirama even more admirable as a person.He could have probably exterminated the Uchiha (he even had their leader and strongest person in Uchiha clan at his mercy) and still decided that things should be solved with a peace treaty, even though they were (as stated in the latest manga) and i quote ´´Everyone could see the Uchiha were inferior in our battle´´ The key word here is ´´Everyone´´ which basically means there was no debate or someone who would argue otherwise, some Uchihas even started switching sides possibly as a measure to at least save themselves in case Madara didn´t surrender on time.

It's not as if it was something new. It was said plenty of times in this manga. Not Uchiha is Uchiha Madara. When you realise that their supposed greatest genius only unlocked a one tomoe sharingan for the first time when he seemed to be over 10, you starts to wonder if the Uchihas were that good. Even Sasuke stated that just unlocking Sharingan was a rarity in the clan:

, it should be obvious they were weaker since the start. Fodders exists everywhere. Once fodder always fodder U_U

Putting it like that it explains well why uchihas lost.
But if all uchihas had 3 tomoe sharingan then u question how? And most ppl dont view uchiha as uchiha w/o sharingan
