Why are people still optimistic?

It's done. The Kages vanished, along with Madara. There will be no fighting if Kishimoto wants to wrap this up. The only thing we could get are the inner conflicts of Sasuke's head and debates about what he'll do next and how Naruto tries to persuade him. Almost every page in today's chapter got a panel of his face, deep in thoughts.

I'd say the rest of the chapters are celebrations and politics. No fighting anymore.

It’s kind of funny. For this whole stupid arc this plot has been regressing and adding new elements that need to be resolved, yet people act as if we’ve been progressing towards the actual ending of the manga.

I just don’t see it for now.

The way things are going, and by the way, I mean fast, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends it at 700th chapter. Kaguya got sealed way too fast, Hashirama and Madara are gone, Kakashi lost Obito's power and I'm pretty sure Hagoromo isn't the bad guy. If Sasuke accepts Naruto and his way right off the bat, they could have a friendly fight which could last 3-4 chapters, sort of like Goku/Vegeta type of thing. I'm willin gto bet on that since I don't think Kishimoto would make a bigger impact on Naruto/Sasuke rivalry than on the main villain who caused the world war.
