Why are most anime charcters all white?

Okay so i like anime and been watching it for a long time from dbz-death note etc anyway i was really wondering why the hell is majority of the characters are white seriously aint it ment to be all asians its really weird to see looads of white charcters speak japanese in like every show i want it to be more japanses and see their cultar better cause anime made me love it lol and im black and i really dont care if their are black charters if their are oh well we aint in japan sooo...WHY?

It's because in Japan, perfection is almost a must .. they try to make characters look perfect without a flaw .. (at least the main characters) and the way they draw their characters is for them the perfect 'human' .. in their eyes .. the naruto characters don't exactly look Asian, african, Europian or american either.. it's just how they like to draw their characters ^^ .. (at least that's what my sister told me.. she studies Japanology.. so i dunno) =D

I've always thought this too. The Japanese create manga/anime & the main characters always seem Caucasian, and supporting characters & background guys occasionally seem Asian. I think it's just the Japanese culture, they prefer when the main characters don't look Asian.

The reason why most anime characters look so pale, is because white skin is considered to be very beautiful in Japan and other Asian countries.

White skin in the past was a sign that people didn't have to work outside in the sun, meaning they were rich enough to be able to stay inside.
That was actually in the Western countries too: a white skin equalled being rich in the past.

So it's mostly because they consider white skin to be very beautiful.

1. Because black makes everyone look good, regardless.

2. Something to do with the water's reflection with the sun and the sky or something.


As for the actual question, I'm assuming that most of these shows, namely Death Note is meant to take place in Japan, which most people living there if you had put them on a scale would be closer to the caucasian side than the african-american side. In a universe made up for the purpose of the anime, like DBZ then really it's all preference.
