Because people tend to judge others by their looks. Tho I do believe that SOME emo people need to stop ranting and accept reality, by ya know...not dressing like the starchild in public. That way they might be able to have a successful job outside of music...and Gamestop.xd

Psychological problems. Stress mostly. It's sort of the same reason why people commit suicide i guess.

From what i've seen, i get the feeling that emo people always try to distance themselves from the norm and for some reason they have this self-hate or depression that they usually reflect to others making nobody really like them. If they got depression they should seek help, not wear all-dark clothing, pierce their bodies or paint their faces. Also, i really hate emo people's mood swings, they present themselves in such a way that you can't possibly like them if you're not like them, this is just me speaking from experience and my general impression on emo people.
