I actually think the reason Mokuton, Sharingan(MS and EMS), Rinnegan and chakra chains work on Bijuu's is because they all related to the Sons of the Sage (and he to kaguya who ate the God fruit). So yeah because they all came from the same thing and they all from the 2 sons they affect the Bijuus easier then other things. Notice how it's only Sage Tools or people/clans descended from the sage that can effect the Bijuus. Anyway that's my take on it.
