[Question] Why are announcements no longer made?

Zise has already made it clear, announcements would be made when necessary or when the staff decides it is the appropriate time. End of story!

Announcements for change that is yet and has happened are always necessary, I'm pretty sure you have realized this, but there will be no announcements that will be made. The very least that section is used only for system related stuff.

Exercise some patience, Versuvio and Zise are working hard and are making changes to the forum when all the works and repairs are completed, announcements will be made if deemed necessary, it is not our job as members to question why.

Sure when everything is in place, when is that really? How many things have changed these past months and there haven't been no announcements about? Look at mangabase, the status system, removal of no. of visitors in a profile etc. Its been longer then 4 month and we've never heard about any announcement concerning it. Like today those approx 9 -14 threads about new features added today woulnd't it be better if there was an official thread made about it instead of those many threads people have made here today?

1. Sometimes its not a good thing to announce you are removing a feature because its not worth having a billion people ask why it was taken away and have to answer the same thing over again. The best thing is to have is the mentality that if something is changed/removed it is either due to abuse and/or harmful to the site. Nothing much to it.

2. Sometimes its better to reserve announcements for meaningful changes that have a much bigger impact. However, since this site is the property of Versivio, it is up to him to decide what exactly he wants to announce when he wants to. It may sound insensitive (forgive me) but people hardly even glance at the announcements anyway so making a post about changes every time, especially when time is a factor, is just not worth it.

At least that is what my opinion on it is.

Announcement is on its way, however we're not finished yet today and tomorrow.

Announcements are always made when major changes are implemented and ready to be used. Sometimes we shut down the whole site for maintenance, but we believe it's better to do it on the fly while keeping the site running for everyones convenience. There has not been any changes worth announcing for the past months due to the main changes that has been made has been behind the scenes in terms of hardware and optimization of how the site runs. Either way with this said, as V mentioned earlier, there will be announcements when things are ready to be announced.

Sometimes things does not work as it was intended, and if you are announcing it before you have actually gotten it to work.. you are just making a fool out of yourself, this happens to everyone once in a while. This includes making a new background, we can all say that a new background is coming, but the artist wouldn't be happy with the result, and would have to remake it 5 times before getting it right and the users would get impatient and just complain and complain. Or it could be that a certain set of code aren't working for a planned update.

All in all it's to not give false promises. So announcements will be made once things are ready where everything is included. And also it's to prevent a trollfeast, that would occur with people saying no that sucks, while we know time and time again this is what happens most times when things change, "it was better before attitude". While after a couple of weeks everyone has gotten used to it and understands that its infact is way better.
