Why all the hate on Danzo?

But honestly, we dont know the full extent of Danzo's involvement in most of the story. All we know about him is his failures, or douchebaggery; considering his role as Konoha's 'Darkness', it makes sense his successes would be hidden.

We can only go by what we see in the manga. Not by some fanfic your trying to create.

They were trying to bring back Mokuton, which is one of the most game Breaking abilities in the whole Narutoverse. The way Danzo saw it, Konoha would have nothing to fear if they could bring a second Hashirama Senju.

The end does not justify the means. Danzo's character violated that principle. The character seems to be more motivated by jealousy of Hiruzon than love of the village. Further, Danzo was also a coward, which we know from the flashback episodes.

I never said it was morally right; all I'm saying is that there is a reason why Danzo did it. He didn't just twirl a fake moustache, put on a monocle and say "I feel like being a massive bag of Douche."

He doesn't care about 'Good' and 'Evil'; all that matters is protecting Konoha. And guess what? That means Danzo is on the same side as Naruto.

Kishimoto had so much he could do with Danzo, instead he used him as a scapegoat for people to hate Konoha with.

Exactly. I used to sorta hate Danzo, but his death helped me see that he really was a good guy. It also helped me realize that Danzo is the only person who understands anything about being a ninja.

So in your view its ok for a person to do the wrong in order to do the right for a nation? I don't care if what he's doing is for the nation. I care about the ways he tried to do those things for the nation. Experimenting on children in order to get some godly powers is totally unacceptable way of doing something for the nation. Most of all what really bugs me is the fact that when the leaf was in danger he stayed back in his roots.

A soldier fights for his country. That's true no matter if you're an american soldier or a ninja. If you can save people, than do so. But if you need to weigh the lives of a few over the lives of the many...

And lets just agree to disagree about the children issue. Obviously, neither of us will change our mind. And as for staying back when the village was under attack, he genuinely thought that becoming Hokage would be best for the village. And he knew there was no way to fight Pain; best for him to just hide with Root, so that even if the village is destroyed, it can be rebuilt.

Lets just say I prefer the Third Hokage's way of handling it than Danzo's way. With that said, we could agree to disagree.
