excuse me for shedding some light on the crap you eat. Some people want to live a long life, see you in the obituary in a few years
The American and western diets have not changed substantially over the past 20 years - particularly not in the subjects you have posted. Average life expectancies have been increasing while studies being done have shown little success in surgeries actually extending the life of individuals (surgeries typically see no statistically strong difference compared to control groups that do not receive surgery following heart attacks and other such things).
That would strongly imply that, in spite of any potential harm in diets, people have been living longer and not simply because of medical advances.
The idea that you are going to end up dead over drinking a few bottles of Pepsi is silly.
I usually am leading the pack when it comes to PT amongst my military peers. I can easily put away 4-6 liters of soda in a single evening if I let myself. I have abnormally healthy eyes for my age (as determined by scans of my retina) and can fit in with a group of high-school freshmen over ten years after the fact.
A lot of it is that I've been blessed with good genetics. And that's not to say that my eating habits come without consequence (my teeth have payed heavily for my affair with soda). But I'm doing quite alright in terms of physical health and I don't fret too much over what I eat.
There are a few things I stay away from, however. I rarely ever consume alcoholic beverages. I also have a preference for glass over plastic wares. I tend to steer clear of aluminum cookware, and never cook nightshade families in it (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant, etc - it leaches the aluminum from the pan and it's a bit of a troublesome metal for your body).
But, honestly, I'd rather live and enjoy my life rather than fret over what may or may not shorten it. I don't plan on being mortal much longer, anyway.
