Instead of pushing all the responsibility away, you do something. This thread pretty much comes down on you screaming at us we need to do something, but you didn't provide anything constructive at all.
The Chatterbox is not a priority. If you would make a ranking based on the importance of sections, that one would be almost at the bottom of the list. Frankly the only reason that section exists is because all the threads that are not against the rules, but are not covered by the other sections, can and should be posted there. There is no point in making such a section active, it's like the Hufflepuff House of NB "Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest".
Whatever doesn't belong anywhere else on NB is moved there. In fact if all the people who continuously make threads that belong in the Chatterbox, but post them somewhere else, would post them there, that section would be active. The problem mainly lies on the side of the members, not the staff. There is no reason for us to make that section active and in fact it isn't even wanted as we have had more than one issue in the past with that section. In essence it comes down on that you are asking that we promote border-edge spam threads. Even if the Chatterbox dies, so be it, that section's main purpose was never to be a highly active one nor do we gain anything from making it active.
Also I think it's still more active than several other sections.
