He was always the Leafs 3rd Strongest Ninja, he obviously lost to Hidan, but who do you think he could of beat, i don't think he'd of beaten Zabuza either just to put that out there.

Depends if he has intel... I think he could have beaten Hidan had Kakuzu not been there.

He might be able to beat Konan, normal Zetsu and up for debate, Sasori.

i don't see it, he doesn't even hold an elemental advantage like kakashi, kakashi would have died to zabuza w/o naruto telling him to move. even though i doubt asuma's chakra blades can pierce the blade, he can regain it with asuma's blood

There's a good chance for him to beat Sasori.

A close range fighter that has got plenty of offensive power and is pretty swift on his feet.

Asuma is a fire style user, he can use fire to clear that smoke IMO.
