Whos stronger Gai or Raikage?

Migualon, you are almost there. Both of you fail to release the complexity of a fight. I mean no offense please don't act like A and break my neck for disagreeing with you! Anyways, you need to take into account stamina, chakra levels, jutsu, nature affinity, etc. If no one else does, I'll post my own detailed reasoning why I chose A since my answer only told a little

We have pretty much seen how far Gai can go and it's really shockingly powerful. He had that huge battle with Kisame and I think I speak for all of us that it was rather surprising how much power he actually has.
But what comes for Raikage, we haven't seen what he is really capable of.
All we've seen that he's hot headed, beats people to death and asks questions later. No big and powerful jutsus haven't been shown but I don't doubt for a second that he really is a tough guy. He is a Kage afterall.

So this is rather a pointless question since we can't say for sure but to give my own opinion, I have to go with Gai. I don't have a good reason or explanation for it but I guess I just like Gai more ​

Jutsu: All his jutsu Have to do with his Lightning Armor enhancing his crazy strength and reflexes. They are all wrestling moves, so basically taijutsu like Gai. Yes, whoever said that he was the same speed as Minato, that is true.

No Keke Genkai (SPELLING?)

Hot-headed, which shows his quick and powerful fighting style.

Finally, along with his great strength and speed, he appears to have great stamina with having his lightning armor on continuously against Sasuke.

Nature Affinity: ?

Jutsu: He uses taijutsu just like A. He is quick like A, but does not appear to be quicker. He is physically strong, but it appears that A is stronger. Gai does have the eight gates, and it appears that A cannot use them. The Daytime Tiger jutsu (I'm sorry that seems like ninjutsu than taijutsu, come on Kishi!) is very powerful and would probably seriously hurt A.

No Keke Genkai

Fiery personality that is confident and determined, and fights quickly and powerfully too.

Finally his stamina is great too.

VERDICT

It would come down to stamina, and strength in this battle of taijutsu. As of now, A appears to be physically stronger, but we don't know who has a better stamina. The Daytime Tiger would be the greatest threat to A, but looking at how Jugo's blast didn't affect A, maybe he would dodge it too. I believe A has more stamina and would say A.

lol, of course raikage, i don´t really think that 7 gates can beat him. we don´t know if guy can do 8 gates, if yes and he opens all of them he might beat him, but with 7 or less he cannot beat raikage

People are getting the speed comparison between Raikage and Minato wrong. Its not talking about physical speed, but how fast their brains are working. I believe all of the things listed are important, but the reason why I think Gai would win, is the mere fact of Gai's physical speed and their attitudes. Gai is a emotional fighter yes, but his actions are not rushed, unlike A. Gai has a better precision on his attacks, while Raikage is fast but sluggish in attack.

If gai cant kill kisame with 7 gates how do u expect him to kill the raikage with 7, it doesnt add up. he would have to go eight and hope he kills the raikage along side him

I personally think you head the nail on the head so to speak just to add to that i am pretty sure that they said his speed is like Minato's when he has the raiton armour activated not thinking and i do beleive that Gai could outsmart him A thinks with his fists that is his downfall hence why he was not choosen for the leader of great shinobi army he is far too hot headed and Gai doesnt loose his cool and i reckon that gai could come round behind the raikage and give a good knock on the head and knock him out cold

but raikage isnt that special imo, yes hes fast and strong,

i believe guy with his 7 gates is about as strong as his raiton cloak and guy would win if he outsmarted him in the time he has while using the 7 gates, otherwise raikage
