Kakashi's got over 1k techniques, inner gates, mangekyo sharingan, and fantastic taijutsu. That's pretty ridiculously versatile. On the other hand kishi tends to only let him use lightning techs.

Jiraiya doesn't have nearly the same amount of techs, but the ones he uses are fit his infiltration style very well, and he's overall more powerful than kakashi. Sage mode and summons add alot of flavor too.

JMan has more stamina , frog summonings and Frog Sage Mode
Kakashi has a lot of chakra , knows many ninjutsus and the MS (Kamui), taijutsu(IG)

I think theyre quite equal.

Kakashi's 1000 jutsu jazz gives him the potential, however going by what we've seen Jiraiya is more versatile.

You're obviously biased towards Jiraiya. There is no use arguing with you. Kakashi has somewhere around 1000 jutsu and can copy near any ninjutsu. Kakashi's elements are Lightning, Water, Earth, and Fire. Jiraiya can only use 2 elements, Earth and Fire. To add to that, Kakashi has more Genjutsu than Jiraiya. More nature elements + 1000 jutsu + more Genjutsu = Greater diversity.

I'm gonna say Kakashi because he can copy jutsu of any element. Jiraiya was my favorite character, but Kakashi is as versatile as it gets, short of Nagato.

Nagato is not really versatile, he doesnt have genjutsu or hardly taijutsu

They're probably one of the most versatile ninja ever, Kakashi is a litle more versatile imo and he's still young.

Jiraiya is not a good strategist and he isnt bery smart
If he was he wouldve survive against Pein
A smart person would know to retreat

And he felt for one of itachis weak genjutsus
