Base gai is faster. Manga already made this clear in part 1 shortly after the lee vs sasuke duel. In the latest DB, gai commands a 5/5, kakashi commands a 4.5 and this is base btw

Maybe i'm wrong, but i don't think he used it again in the manga, at least from what i know. He used it in the anime though like in the fight against Kakuzu for example, where he used the frontal lotus to knock him down. I think Kakashi doesn't use it more often because of the side effects of the technique. Since it's a forbidden technique, you must only use it cautiously. Just look what happened to Lee after he opened gates against Gaara.

Im not familiar with this race. Going by the responses it was a filler and that is possible why im not familiar with it.

Anyway in DB 1 kakashi's speed was 4 and in the second and 3rd increased by 0.5. Gai's speed in all 3 databooks has stayed a constant at 5.

Reason for gai's/lee speed is due to his fighting style Goken which involves intense training but also high speed combo taijutsu.

That is the true definition of speed without any enhancements.

However gai is a shunshin user aswell (unlike lee who doesnt have talent in ninjutsu) and when he uses this jutsu, does his true speed in base show. However still lacking when it comes to v1 A, though id roughly say base gai's speed is equal to shunshin A, without raiton

Gai. His base speed is pretty impressive. Kakashi is not an extremely fast ninja as far as higher tier ninjas go for their speed feats.

Who is faster Base Guy or Kakashi ?
Guy obviously is faster with the Gates but I want to know what people think about base speed.

Guy was already defeated during his marathon race with Kakashi. It was a close fight though like Paper-Rock-Scissors..
