Well he did do the same for Madara's armour:

^ Look at the top right panel. He just did it to show that Madara was no longer wearing the armour, much like the case here that Madara is no longer wearing the headband.

This time something landed right on top of two ancient artefacts from the time of the birth of ninjutsu, piercing the scroll Tenten had placed them in right where the gourd was. Not just on the ground. That and the taking off of the headband had already been depicted, even though there isn't much need for even that as IT was activated and the third eye opened where the headband was so we all know that he isn't wearing it.

I'd agree if it had simply landed on the ground, but this landed right on top of the scroll, VERY conveniently. It is Madara's headgear, of that there is no doubt, but my reaction would be the same if a kunai or even a sharp rock pierced the scroll that the gourd was held in.

same as you , I don't have any idea how the headband will help , but as much as i look at that panel , i can't consider it's anything else but the headband !

there is something that caught my attention ! when Madara spitted out the sage's tools , they were just the gourd and the pot ! and they were not sealed in a SCROLL ! if you can remember Lee told others that Ten Ten stayed behind to check ( or do ) something :

and now we see that the gourd and the pot are sealed in a scroll ! and if you look closely you can see that it's a long scroll , means that there are some other things inside of it !! so , maybe a part of madara come in use later ! that's the only thing i can think of right now !

All of Tenten's scrolls are like that, i think. Other than that, it's not really a part of Madara, just a piece of his armour. I doubt there are other things in it and if there are there is nothing of importance to the lore, just some explosive tag kunai or other common ninja tools.
