It was unecessary and a huge mistake on Kishimoto's part for him to even think of having Kaguya being an antagonist in any kind of way at all. Kaguya should have just remained established as the heroine who brought forth peace and stability to the world as stated in chapter 646 and Kishi should have written it to where Kaguya taught her children, Hagoromo and Hamura the art of Ninshuu and Ninjutsu. Kishi should have also stuck with the Shinju being established as becoming the Juubi due to it getting angry at Kaguya eating it's fruit and have Kaguya be the first to fight against the Juubi and lose, leaving her two children to avenge their mother's death and save the world!

That said, in chapter 673, Madara still should have gotten that powerup by abosorbing the Shinju and the Shinju should have been influencing Madara by a just a little and that's it. The rest would be all Madara's doing.

That would have made a much better story than what we got!

Exactly this. Kaguya is by far the worst thing ever happened in manga history.
Madara was introduced in part 1 of the manga, in the VotE. First, he was a powerful name.. a guy who let the most powerful Bijuu, Kurama, shiver with fear. Then, Itachi gave us an in-depth look of his early life and how Madara hot his power. Trough the entire story of the manga, we got tiny pieces of Madaras history, untill he finally showed up himself in the 4th shinobi world war.
From that moment on, he was badass all the time. Remember when he wiped out most of the aliance on his own? Then he crushed all the kages and was really bored at the same time. Madara is the definition of power and epicness.
When he got fully revived with Rinne Tensei, he was much more epic, that was the best time in the manga.
He killed Naruto und Sasuke (especially this was totally awesome) for a short time, crushed Tobirama, Hashirama, all Bijuu at once and much more.. you know it all.
Then, at the top of his powerlevel.. when he was the most powerful thing on the planet, he got ****ed by Kishis brainfart. I won't accept the shit, that Kishimoto is rewriting his whole story ca. 20 chapters before the end.

I want to see Madara fight with full power, but that will never happen. With only one Rinnegan, he played with 8-Gate-Guy and nearly got killed as a result. With two Rinnegan, he easily created 20+ Chibaku Tensei meteors, without any symptom of exhaustion.
If he wanted to, he would be able to kill the entire world in one day.. to sad, that we won't see him got all-out ever v.v

Kaguya was just a ridiculous fanfiction, which ruined the whole manga in the end. It was a huge mistake to introduce her.. the story would've been great if Hagoromo was the one, who ate the stupid chakra fruit. Kaguya wasn't needed here. And then.. if Kishi wanted to introduce this woman so badly.. he should have saved up her for the last movie. In this case, he would've had enough time to introduce her decently with the time it needed.

Kaguya is not the worst thing to happen to manga. Obito's story arc was far worst. Considering the years wasted on a mystery with an obvious answer, everyone called Tobi=Obito. Then there is the idiotic attempt at making this massive ass-hole a sypathetic character with repetitive flashbacks of Rin. Then ending it off with giving this ass-hole a happy ending and saying that he is nothing but awesome is just disgustingly immoral.

Madara would have been a far better and more entertaining FV IMO, as Kaguya was lobotomised and a stale character. At least Madara had a decent connection to the main characters, and a good backstory. Kaguya was rushed and her back story was poorly explained.

There is no excuse for how pathetic Kaguya was as a villain.She would have been a excellent movie villain.Its as if Kishi killed off Madara too soon,later realized his mistake and wrote Kaguya to get himself out of it only to rush that too and screw the Naruto Sasuke fight.The Kaguya arc and onwards really made me look down on this manga considering how it was at its pinnacle of glory during the Pain Arc
