I'm guessing Madara knows how to make the fruit grow and it has something to do with Hashirama and his sage mode. Everything revolves around him and his DNA. That's the cure to everything.

I'm sure who ever eats from the fruit controls the power of the tree. That's why the so6p had to fight the Jubi because his mother died and the tree went lose. If Madara eats the tree Obito's useless and becomes his pawn.
