[Discussion] Who will be the next Strawhat?

Assuming there will be a new Mugiwara at the end of this arc, who do you think is likely to join the Strawhats? Why?

Keep in mind the following criteria:
1. Nowhere else to go except with the Strawhats
2. Sad past
3. Needs to bring something new to the crew
4. Witnesses Luffy defeating the main villain of the arc
5. Inspired by a person or character from elsewhere

Now, in my opinion the only possibilities are the following:
Viola or Kyros (and Ucy)

Viola:

After the destruction of the Donquixote Pirates, she will be able to return to the Royal Family. However: she has already hinted that she won't stay on Dressrosa. Her relationship with both Sanji and Luffy also suggests she would easily fit into the crew, which is lacking of female members.

Viola also fits the bill because she is inspired by a woman called Violet Gibson, an assassin whom shot Benito Mussolini. (Foreshadowing her shooting Doflamingo?)

With her ability the Strawhats will have a great lookout, (a role that is still yet to be occupied on the ship). She is also strong enough to join the crew and her Devil Fruit leaves much room for improvement, allowing Oda to develop her character further.

A perk of having her in the crew is that Oda can create a new running gag to do with Sanji, his comical target (often hard done by). Viola has a tendency to stab who she loves, making a gag of her chasing Sanji around with a knife would be just as funny as his obsession over any woman.

Kyros and Ucy:

The reason I put Ucy here too is his integral role in the arc thus far, he would supplement and make up for Kyros' missing leg. This being said, Kyros would add masses of firepower and strength to the Strawhats. He may be a better option than Viola because the Strawhats already have a third of their crew as Paramecia users.

Both characters have similar origins (Colosseum) and therefore could work very well together as a pair. These guys are also based on characters from Latin Classics. Cyrus the Great.

Kyros brings not only immense strength (standing between Franky and Sanji in power) but also brings Rokushiki and Pancratium to the crew. A new fighting style. He may have a political influence as he was a former General. Perhaps giving the crew access to the Underground Market.

P.S. Kyros already has a bounty (which is yet to be revealed to us).

Franky, Usopp, Nami and Sanji don't meet that first criteria, so I don't think it should be included. As others have said before, I don't see Kyros leaving Rebecca again.

I'd have said Baby 5 if she wasn't going with Don Sai and if it wasn't for the fact that she'd be better for the Heart Pirates. Viola is the best option tbh, she already bonded with Sanji and it could turn into some good character development for Sanji if she's there and their bond grows. By having a ¨release¨ of sorts in the form of Viola, Sanji's lady-loving side would be more focuses rather than all over the place. It could lead to the take-no-shit-respect-food thug side of Sanji to come out again. Viola would also be a great use to the Strawhats, and she fulfills the see Luffy(and Law U_U) defeat main villain criteria perfectly. She could also help with the other crews jobs. Help Brook entertain by dancing to his music. She could help Chopper heal by locating injuries quickly. She could help Nami navigate. She could locate damage on the ship quickly that Franky could take care of. She also appears quite classy and sophisticated, so she and Robin would probably get along, and she's often compared to Robin in the Dressrosa/Alabasta parallels.

Franky was forced away, the Franky Brothers didn't want him back, for their (and his) own good.

Sanji wasn't forced off of the Baratie and Usopp was still welcomed to the island. She could stay. Franky is the same as Sanji, if they had ultimately chosen to stay where they were respectively found, they could have.

Yeah, no, Robin fits the parallel far more than Sugar. For one, both Viola and Robin had no real tie to their superior, and were merely using them. Both betrayed them, both aided Luffy in a crucial way. Only thing Sugar has in common with Robin is being a female Paramecia who works closely with the main villain of the arc. And Sugar showed regrets for/doubts in for her actions?

Are we reading the same manga here? The only thing Sugar appeared to feel was some slight sympathy for the Tontottas that appeared for about a grand total of one panel.

Viola is used as and is a much better fit to the parallel than Sugar.

You know Chopper isn't the actual ¨pet¨ of the crew right? The Strawhats consider him the same as everyone else. Luffy claiming he was gonna make the Kraken their pet is proof enough of that. Chopper being their pet was a mistake on the WG's part.

Red: It's unlikely that he is going to join, even tho I would love that. He is a samurai with old-fashioned values and he has a son. No way that he is going to abandon his country and his son to join a pirate crew.

OT: As I said the other day in some different thread I would really love Viola to join and I think that could happen, or at least it looks like that right now. But Oda is Oda...

And no, I think that there is any possibility that Kyros is going to join.

Bartolomeo shouldn't join or he'd become boring in the long run. He is the type of character that is better as a side one. I suspect Viola will become a strawhat because it's hard for me to think she will never meet Sanji again but oh well, who knows what will happen. If not, Kinemon will probably become one
