What anime/anime character would you defend no matter what? You would go against all logic, no matter is Pein, or any other logic user was put against you.

When some goes against logic and obvious stuff, that's their problem. If people think Rasengan can't be absorbed(giving an example) then they're the d*mb ones or obvous fanboys that won't admit, I move on.

Because some of us fall to deep in love with a character to where they can never do wrong in our eyes. IOW humans are stupid.

Itachi is my favorite character in terms of crossover battles but even i know he is easily one of the weakest characters in fiction and get soloed by almost anyone.

that being said there are several characters he can defeat such as Goku, Luffy at the beginning of one piece, and Justice leage unlimited hawkgirl.
