Who was the masked man with long hair?

Any ideas who could have been the masked guy with long hair? He couldn't have been Madara since his hair was white and he was very old when Obito got crushed.

Very interesting question. A few days ago I put out a theory that the mask was used by both Madara and Obito to keep the identities a secret and to fool Pain into thinking that Obito was Madara and that "Madara" was therefore effectively immortal. Now, it seems like that might not be the case. Remember that Tsunade uses the transformation jutsu to make herself look younger than she really is. Madara could have been doing the same (again, to fool Pain into thinking that Madara is immortal). But, that seems a little bit less likely.

Two questions we have to answer now, if my theory doesn't work as well, are:

1) Why was the masked man's hair long for a while, if it wasn't Madara?
2) Why did Obito help massacre his own clan, when he didn't have a reason for vengeance like Madara had?
2a) If it was just a way to recruit Sasuke and Itachi to his team, why did he need them?

Im pretty sure that Madara isn't the masked man at the massacre. As silly as it seems Obito has eight years to grow his hair after fighting the fourth lol. You saw how old Madara looked when he saved Obito, it couldn't have been him who helped Itachi because I assume he was near death. It doesn't really make sense that Obito would cut his hair again when joining akatsuki though lol.

Madara couldn't do shit after he saved Obito, that's why he saved him. He looked like he couldn't even cast Tsukuyomi on his own dinner lol.

My guess is that Minato inspired Obito to take on the guise of Madara when Minato asked him if he is Madara. There's a big statue of Madara at the Valley of the End, for all the world to see, portraying him with long spiky hair. That explains why Obito grew his hair.

At some point Obito took on the guise of Tobi. This was probably what motivated him to cut his hair short again.

Your right...but that Old Man looks a hell of a lot like Madara. If you look carefully at the last scan you'll see what looks like the back of Old-ass-Madara's (spiky-haired) head as well.

Madara calls that in "between world" the crevasse between "Obito's world" and the "Next". My question is how did Obito's body get to this "butt-crack world" in the first place? I thought bodies stayed behind when people died in the Narutoverse. Could Space/time jutsu be the culprit?

So assuming the man at the end of the chapter with white hair is madara. Would It possible to assume that the black haired masked man could possibly be Izuna uchiha revived by madara using the rinnegan? He could have revived him before giving it to Nagato to see if it worked and as a back up plan ..... Just saying doesn't matter either way tho

Maybe Madara means it metaphorically, that Obito was slowly slipping from the world of the living to the world of the dead? Caught in between, barely alive and almost dead? Basically Madara was in the same position at that time considering he looks like he would do his last cough soon in the latest chapter.
