I know that the manga stated that jinchuuriki Obito was stronger than the juubi, but stronger doesn't always mean a bigger threat. Hear me out. I say that the juubi almost killed Naruto many more times than Obito. Actually, Naruto is no match for the juubi if you think about it. Consider this:
1. In its first form alone, the juubi defeated BM Naruto, BM Bee, Kakashi and Guy. This quartet would have been dead if Ino hadn't come at that moment and redirected that bijuudama.
2. In its 2nd form, it dislocated Naruto's shoulder (which rendered him unable to use ninjutsu until Hinata fixed Naruto's shoulder). It then proceeded to shoot those city/mountain range destroying bijuudamas. Had it shot one at the alliance, Naruto and the alliance would have been dead.
3. This one was technically aided by Obito, but those wood style spikes would have killed Naruto if it weren't for Neji's sacrifice.
4. Naruto was not in BM when the juubi was about to launch another bijuudama. It was a good thing that Bee shot this one back into the juubi's mouth.
5. After the juubi unleashed tenpenchii, Naruto lost BM. The juubi proceeded to shoot one of those giant bijuudamas shortly after. Those earth style walls were ineffectual. Nobody was able to do anything. Fortuneately, Minato came and warped the bomb away.
6. The juubi later tried to shoot one of those giant bijuudamas again, this time to be stopped by the hokages' barrier.
7. When the shinju later came back to full form, the shinju got a hold on Naruto and absorbed his chakara (almost killing him).
As you can see, the juubi has almost killed Naruto and the alliance many times. Technically, the juubi itself never even got defeated. Remember, it just shed its skin to get rid of those amaterasu flames. Even the clones gave the alliance a hard time. The one who got defeated was Obito.
Now let's see what Obito how many times Obito has almost killed Naruto and friends.
1. There was the time when he grabbed Naruto and Sasuke's faces (and Obito had no control of himself at this time).
2. There was the time he shot the black technique at Naruto and Sasuke protected Naruto with susanoo. (Still no control)
3. There was the time when the little black ball was about to explode next to Naruto, Sasuke and Minato (he had control now).
4. There were those bijuudamas. (He had control.)
5. There was the Shinju grabbing Naruto. (The only reason I count this feat under both the juubi and Obito is because Obito was controlling the shinju, therefore making it an Obito feat as well as a shinju feat).
As you can see, Obito has come close to killing Naruto and company less times than the juubi itself (and some of these times were when the juubi was in control). It is for this reason that I say that the juubi itself posed a bigger problem than Obito did. Wouldn't you agree?
