Anyway, I think it was Madara

Can't be Minato since he was sealed in the Shinigami, and Hiruzen stopped the coffin too.

And remember, one of the BIGGEST Misconception here is that the ritual needs to be an success before the zombie enters the coffin....

Kabuto was bullshit'ing with Obito when he said "Orochimaru failed to summon Minato" bla bla bla. If he said it was Madara that be suicide.

The ritual for Minato should have worked well before he was placed in that coffin. And shouldn't work since he's sealed.

Orochimaru had to release the souls to use Edo Tensei.

Whoever is in that 3rd Coffin had a successful ritual.

It was obviously Minato. And we know that Kishi messes up sometimes and doesn't follow his own rules about things. With that being said, there were NO rules for Edo Tensei established that early in the manga.

Have you not read the Manga at all? It was explicitly stated in the Manga by Tobimaru, but was rejected by Hashirama because it requires a human sacrifice.

It was actually never intended to have anyone in that coffin. It was simply a device used to show that Orochimaru's edo tensei was imperfect.

Edit: However, it clearly states in The manga that Minato was the failed coffin. Writers always use simple things to tie stories together, even if ot wasnt its original purpose.
