Who was more of the prodigy of the Uchiha Clan? Sasuke or Itachi?

Sasuke has been noted as the most gifted student in his class and has been hyped up by a lot of people in Naruto. His skills and mastery over his eyes far exceed that of Itachi. Orochimaru had an interest in him, well he still does.

Itachi was gifted at a young age. And became an Anbu at a very young age. He was gifted and recognize as a true Uchiha and feared by many people. Orochimaru also had a interest but failed.

What do you think? There's more but I'm only writing what's on my head so if you would explain more I can post it here!

well sasuke wasn't even considered a prodigy in the first place. He was only the best in his class because, 1) He worked hard to get where he was at because he was playing catch up to Itachi. 2) Sasuke didn't have any other Uchiha in the same class as me. Whose to say that sasuke was just average compared to the other Uchiha? We haven't seen any of the other kid Uchihas that could have grown up, and 3) Itachi was very well known to be the Uchihas prodigy, a naturally gifted shinobi. Sasuke doesn't eve compare to Itachi. Just know, if Itachi really wanted Sasukes eyes for his own EMS. He would have them and we wouldn't even be having this conversation,

Well just put a fact Itachi was a genuis and prodigy above everyone else in the uchiha clan but even he admitted sauske has more potential then himself to become stronger

I say Itachi is. Itachi was smarter than every uchiha except for Madara. Maybe he was smarter but i dont think Kishi would allow that to happen. But instead of Itachi being the prodigy. Plot gave it to Sasuke cause he's supposedly trying to avenge his clan, and i dont think he can do it with just 3 tomoe sharingan. So Plot worked it magic and twisted everything and had Itachi die to Sasuke. When in reality Sasuke would of Died.
