It's better if he fixes his bonds with people and creates new ones, going evil will just ruin the development that is being made for him. No, him declaring that he wants to destroy Konoha was enough for me. We all know he's going to be somehow redeemed, so having him be the FV would be pushing it way too far. His final battle with Naruto should just be them as rivals and not a good vs. evil thing.
