wrong, gary's proper name was green. Blue is the girl in the manga, for some reason i've forgotten american translations swapped them over.

OT: Ash is poorly based off red, like the one person who posted that image above, can sum it up. Red beats the pokemon league and his rival, captures legendary pokemon and im pretty sure he filled up his entire pokedex.

because the original pokemon manga was a bit more brutal and targeted for older audiences, but the anime producers wanted to target this at kids, so they made ash up and made him never age.

Are you kidding me ? wow . what a shame .

that is a mistranslation, in japan the three original games were red, blue and green. Red (ashes counterpart) Green (Gary's counterpart) and Blues (Appears in the manga and never in the anime)

I think the reason was that when the games released in america, they only brought out blue and red, and the green version was only out in japan. so instead of it being red (ashes counterpart) and green (gary's counterpart)because they're not really contrasting colours, they swapped it around so the rivals were blue and red, much like the actual colours.

red is the protagonist of red, blue and yellow as well as in the pokemon adventure series and pokemon the origin

Trainer Red is the protagonist of red, blue, green, yellow and Origin, But NOT adventures,

the red from adventures was made by Hidenori Kusaka as a counterpart of red, for his own manga series, there is lots of red counterparts as I explain in my earlier posts, but the True and Original red, is the one from the game,

I know but I'm talking about here in America. In Red and Blue and idk about FR/LG, he's called Blue. I'm pretty sure the same was for Yellow in America.
