Kaguya/BlackZetsu loves Itachi because he is one Uchiha that was never used, all his life he decided what to do and went through it with his will of fire, even though he lied, he decided to lie for the right reasons.
itachi was used his whole life and easily got manipulated.
itachi was a cruel sociopath who told the worst lie possible to sasuke to corrupt him and turn him to revenge
He was the only Uchiha that seriously loved the village and possesses its will
he was the third uchiha to seriously hate the village and betray it and let it be wiped out. itachi did literally nothign to even try to protect konoha and ensured it got destroyed by pain by helping akatsuki get stronger
(all others hated it and their hates were exploited) aside from Shisui who died. And he protected it by being on the evil side, which hampered the enemy's plans.

I mean Zetsu/Kaguya seemed to imply that he either knew, or would have figures it out rather quickly.
i mean zetsu isnt kaguya, was never kaguya, knows nothign that she knows and regularly is a cocky idiot who calls madara madara-sama.
it was kaguya. Doesn't matter if it came from her mouth or zetsu's, it was still kaguya because zetsu is her will.
zetsu isnt and was never kaguya. will doesnt mean anything physical. only that zetsus loyal to her. he has his own personality, own memories, own beliefs and way of thinking, and powers. what he thinks is completely detached from what she thinks.
an example is personality. kaguya is a well intentioned anti villain.
