Naruto for me, Itachi did well in preventing a civil war but he himself said he failed and that he should have trusted sasuke to change his parents minds. I'd say Sasuke would have ended up being more of a threat to the village than the whole uchiha clan which from what we've seen weren't that brilliant, he still can be... also itachi stopped 2-3 edo tensei, and he had big help with that as well, it's not just his feat, itachi just dealt the finishing blows. the only ones I remember were a trapped Dan, Kimimaro and Chiyo, plus Nagato in the figt. although I suppose it's not his fault Madara is above ET.

Naruto's done so many feats that I suppose they're getting forgotten. at 12 years old he had already stopped Gaara from rampaging in the village, at 16 he stopped Pain and convinced him to revive everyone he had killed, he's ridden konoha of the threat of the kyuubi going wild, he singlehandedly took care of the zetsu problem, took down 3 edo tensei including two former kage who would have killed countless more, saved countless from the juubi and is instrumental in the current fight.

I will be honest here....naruto is the main character...has done awesome things...saved the village...i agree to that...however if you think about itachi....the guy sacrificed almost everything and chose to live as a traitor and villain in the villagers' eyes.....expecting no acknowledgement in return....just to make sure that his brother and his village are safe....as long as he lived...his only purpose was protecting konoha....even when he was revived...that very purpose didn't change.....the village never knew about his truth and went on hating him, but still he kept on protecting it till his last moments without expecting anything in return.....he remained hidden in the shadows and guarded the village, with his uncanny future sight, his plans, his intelligence, his power....he wanted to stop war and he did what he could do....and he sacrificed everything for that.....itachi lived a very painful life yet he didn't complain and died with a smike on his tace. He isn't a hero like naruto....he's far greater than that....haters gonna hate but that won't change the fact that itachi's greatness as a shinobi has surpassed that of everyone....kishi couldn't have portrayed his character in a better way.....

Itachi is much wiser, much more intelligent, and much more mature, which are key elements in being a great leader.

Really, the only reason people would vote for Naruto is because of his raw power and main character status.

Yes, Naruto is more powerful, but Itachi is plenty-powerful enough.

Itachi would obviously be a better kage and deserves more praise. However most of his feats are not known or people only see him as akatsuki. Therefore Naruto will receive more praise.

Itachi and naruto are my two favorite characters in the series. theyve both contributed enough, except naruto kinda still has a job left to do.

I give you credit for creating something that is worth answering. naruto deserves more but itachi deserve a high place in konoha as well.
