Who suffered more, Naruto or Sasuke?

That's a hard one. While Naruto was hated by everybody in the village and treated like dirt, Sasuke's own older brother slaughtered his entire clan, including his parents, at a very young age, and lived on hating his brother and thinking only of revenge, hurting him more and more as it continued. Naruto never had anybody to begin with, but Sasuke had people that he cared about once but then lost them all in one night. Everybody wanted to be friends with Sasuke, even Naruto at one point, but the only thing that Sasuke cared about was his revenge and becoming stronger so that he can carry out that revenge. Those aren't exactly thoughts somebody his age should have. But Naruto had to live with being hated by everybody for a reason he didn't even know until he was 12 years old. Sasuke suffered the pain of great loss and lived blinded with revenge, even more so now than ever before, and Naruto suffered unwanted loneliness all his life, all the while being treated like nothing. Either way, they were both incredibly lonely. They both suffered similar pains, yet different ones. It's very difficult to say who suffered more. I think that it's both.

Those that grew up loved can never understand the pain of never being loved. I've been there n I believe that naruto suffered more. Why? Was alone 99% of his childhood. Always being shown up by sauske. He has suffered since sauske left n everyday since then. Then take into account how much naruto feels wen the 3rd died. Or wen anyone close to him gets hurt. Like wen garaa died.

That 1 night Sasuke saw his whole clan, family, mother and father killed by his own older brother was worse than anything naruto had to go through. Then on top of that he learns it was the very village he came from that made his brother do all those things.

As Sasuke said:"Shut up, how can you understand. You never had anything to begin with"

Having something and it being taken away from you is worse then never having it.

Naruto suffered from loneliness and neglect.

Sasuke suffered from a complete genocide, hatred from your brother, ignorance from villagers, lies and neglect.

Sasuke knows more about the real truth of the Shinobi world than Naruto, who remains green behind the ears. So in the end, I would say Sasuke has been suffering more, though at the contrary of Naruto, he had different goals, which took him in a different path.

Sasuke doesn't know more about the real truth!? Naruto was taught a first hand lesson by Nagato & J-man. Sasuke just knows the dark side, cause he has been ignorant of the light. Naruto on the other hand knows both sides, he's felt the hate and anger and lust for revenge, but he's also shown and felt the love and compassion of the world.

And they've suffered the same, kishi has made that known. Yea Sasuke lost a lot, but so did Naruto. Naruto lost a life he could've had, the same as sasuke, only Naruto, through perseverance, has managed to keep his mind clear of hate and vengeance.

They both suffered a lot, but sasuke at least once knew how it felt to have siblings and people who care for him around him while everyone in the village hated naruto, I'd say sasuke suffered just a little more because he saw how itachi killed everyone in the clan

Actually they both suffered. Naruto suffered when he was young, sasuke clan was wiped in front of his eyes. Bt i think nagato suffered most. I mean his parents were killed in front of his eyes. He suffered till he found jiraiya. And worst he had to kill his best friend

sasuke saw his parents laying in pools of thier own blood. his brother who had just murdered them in cold blood standing over them. when sasuke asked why itachi responds "to test my abilities." later itachi makes him watch his clan getting killed over and over for 24 hrs straight. then he finds out that the village made him murder the clan. itachi broke sasukes wrist, told sasuke he was weak because he lacked hatred, and put him in a genjutsu that made him comatose. naruto got picked on as a kid and no one wanted to play dogde ball with him.

I think They both suffered a lot but sasuke suffered more cuz he had like his whole familly and he was very happy with them then in just one night he lost not only his parents but his whole clan and They were killed by who? His brother whom he loved so much ,i think they're like the opposite naruto Knew hatred then happiness and sasuke Knew happiness then hatred which is the most hard thing.

I don't see this as a debate of who suffered more, because both of them felt pain indescribable. Their pain is just two different types of pain.

Sasukes was mournful pain, naruto had outcast pain. I've had both and they're both pretty damn bad.

I think the main difference between them is that naruto actually cares about the type of pain sasuke feels, while sasuke never thought to see it from naruto's point of view.

So I feel they suffered equally but in completely different ways and naruto learned and grew from his while sasuke curled up and denied everyone else's existence but his own. So if you think sasuke still suffers, remember that he's the one causing his suffering.

Sasuke suffered way more.
Naruto's parents died......but they're still 'alive' .....now sasuke on the other hand watched his parents died over and over

Naruto suffered mostly lonleliness but gradually developed friends and even father figures (Hiruzen and Iruka) and even helped saved ppl from his pain like Gaara. Sasuke only had 1 friend (naruto) as most ppl who knew him simply envied, didn't like him (eg shikamaru) or wanted to fight (eg. Lee) the guy to test the strength of the uchiha.

Now regarding shippuden, too many reasons to list why sasuke suffered more (even though he helped brought it on himself!!)

Sasuke and Naruto both had it rough but IMO i think Sasuke suffered more.

you can't measure who suffered more , pain doesn't have a gauge , it depends no how long the bearer can suffer and how strong he/her is

In my opinion, it seems like Naruto suffered more. Sasuke did have some mental trauma, but also some of his suffering seems to be self inflicted because of his hatred. Although, Itachi told him to hate, but still he has free will to choose for himself. So I guess Naruto suffered more early on, but now Sasuke is suffering more than Naruto. But Naruto seemed like he grew strong through what he suffered.

Athough if I were to choose who suffered the most in the series, I would pick Gaara.
