Kakashi and Riin were being attacked by dozens of mist ninja. They obviously were in a desperate and panicked state to survive. That explosion clouded up Kakashi's vision and Rin probably came up behind him and thats when he stabbed her. He did it as a reflex or thought she was a mist ninja.

I don't remember Zetsu saying a number. For all we know, it could've been 5 very skilled shinobi, or none at all. We're gonna have to wait for that explanation. And Kishi's obvious recently, but not that obvious.

To make something clear, Tobi had not real intention of ''fighting'' Minato. He went to destroy Konoha and Minato ended up being in his way so he fought him.
He had a grudge against the whole shinobi world because it was inevitable.

Obito invaded Konoha, killed Minato wife's body gaurds, proceded to kidnap his wife, and then kill her. And thought that he wouldn't have to deal with Minato at all. You may be right, but I think your logic needs to be a little more thought out . Obito isn't THAT stupid.

Having Kakashi being forced into a corner and having to kill Rin is farrrrr better than him getting mind controlled or it being 2 Zetsu imo. I personally like the spy idea too, it'd make things interesting. Of course Madara should have some part in this.

Rin and Kakashi theory

Here's my explanation on why i think that is not Rin and Kakashi:

In the new chapter Rin and Kakashi still look the same (as in height and faces) while Obito seems to have gotten bigger. We know its been quite a long time since he was trapped in the cave because of how long his hair currently is, (also he just seems a bit taller to me).

So my conclusion is that Obito might be under some sort of genjutsu set upon him by Madara, and he is seeing Rin and Kakashi as he remembered them.

It could also be that Zetsu made clones of them by acquiring some sort of DNA sample from Obito's old clothes (maybe some blood or hair from Rin and Kakashi). This one is a bit out there i know, but Kishi is a master troll...

Lol isn't Madara somehow involved in every main event in the series lmao. But with Rin's death, I think Madara somehow knew this was going to happen, but I hope he's not responsible like everything else in the series.

This was def. Premeditated. Look at kakashi's eye! Kakashi's crying that much, so he mustve started before the strike. And his eye is narrow, in attack mode, its not wide in horror or shock. He knew what he was doing when he killed rin. All we need to know is the reason behind it.

To those that say "Obito says 'you let rin die'" why don't you remember kakashi being surprised by that comment and saying HIMSELF "you don't blame me?". the chapter Sort of explains why obito worded it the way he did even though he watched him kill rin

I doubt Rin is a spy lol, I'm leaning more towards it was an accident due to mist. I'd like to say it was the Mizukage controlling Kakashi somehow which resulted in Obito controlling him

I doubt it, kakashi is already crying when he killed her.

He was instructed by higher ranking ninja, maybe minato or the third hokage.

This is probably the first thread I've seen that points this out. Like I've said in other threads, Kakashi and Rin were going up against mist ninja. Which means their enemies will most likely have some kind of mist tech that can be used against them to impair their vision. Plus Obito did point out the artificial rain hovering over the battlefield. IMO The rain was probably some kind of mist tech. How did I come to these conclusions? Using Simple Logic.
