its just a possible theory:

well we know that kagami was a nice guy and he is the father of shisui uchiha..we never knew anything about him except he never fell in to the curse of hatred and he was the team mate of danzo shimura..we all know what happened in the uchiha massacre...if itachi looked up to shisui who has the same ideals like his father kagami so that means that kagami was never killed by itachi..kagami must have died before the massacre.ok lets roll back to the kyuubi attack on the leaf
we know what happened..the uchihas were falsely accused..where were the uchihas??and where was danzo??..Simple he killed kagami on the outskirts of the village creating a diversion for tobi to infiltrate...young shisui awakened the mangekyou sharingan...

why did danzo kill kagami??he was his teammate ,so kagami was vulnerable to danzo...maybe danzo was after kagami's eyes before stealing shisui's .danzo's goal was to accquire the rinnegan so he had orochi to implant hashi's cells .there is a possibility that danzo had no idea of mangekyou sharingan during the kyuubi's attack.danzo used this oppurtunity to wipe the uchihas. ultimately danzo is the root of all evil

can you really say that about anyone who says "oh yeah when i grow up i want to be an unquestioning dog who murders peopel for a living!" he undoubtedly killed without hesitation when required, like itachi. also just because his son is against the coup doesnt mean he himself had to agree with the 3 elders and wouldnt turn on them.
