The more I think about it I don't think the flames are hot...in the chapter before last sasuke melted the ice but the resulting water didn't evaporate.

Frs "killed" kakazu and pain's paths.
Lava frs has only been used once.

Rasenshuriken killed a pain and destroyed 2 of Kakuzu's hearts. The ten tails TBB killed the entire alliance headquarters.
